Product Description Help baby feel secure with the Halo SleepSack Swaddle. It has been shown that wrapping and infant snugly comforts them and immobilizing their arms prevents startling, allowing them to sleep more soundly. The Halo SleepSack Swaddle, the only TRUE 2 in 1 wearable blanket and swaddle, features a removable swaddle band that attaches with large, soft, adjustable fastener areas to the SleepSack wearable blanket. The swaddle attachment is specially shaped and positioned to provide the safest way to swaddle, with baby's arms either in or out of the swaddle band. After baby grows, the SleepSack can be used alone over regular sleepware to take the place of loose blankets. Features: Cotton wicks moistures and breathes so there is less overheating Generous fit makes it easy for baby to move and kick legs Inverted zipper moves from top to bottom so it won't catch on baby's chin Special design prevents excess fabric from gathering near baby's face Positioning of Swaddle allows for arm-in or arm-out feature Flame resistant - tested to meet US children's sleepwear standards Size XS is designed for newborns 19-23 tall and 6-12 lbs

Superb product September 8, 2008 This swaddle blanket is perfect. We started out using a microfleece Kiddopotamus Swaddle Me which was great, but I felt too warm for our son in the hot summer months. I then got him a cotton version of the same thing but was surprised to find it bunched up around his face a few times... it was enough to send me looking for a better alternative. We tried the Halo swaddle sleep sack and it has worked perfectly every time so we have not used anything else since... I'm now just wondering what to do as our son is about to outgrow it but still loves to be swaddled. In fact, the only reason I didn't give this product 5 stars is because it only comes in 'newborn' (6-12b) size. Why oh why don't they make them bigger??
PS Going only by my own personal experience I'm baffled by the reviewer who said the Halo sack bunched up dangerously and to use the Kiddopotamus instead. I found quite the opposite, with the Halo one having a very reliable design to prevent bunching, versus the SwaddleMe which almost by design will bunch up once baby gets strong enough to wiggle his arms up!
Love it! July 2, 2008 We also have a looonnngggg baby, but we were able to get the other sizes from Halo, and we even have our older child in the big kid sizes. These are great!
SIDS RISK! Needs to be redesigned September 16, 2007 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
This product should be recalled. It's sold based on the premise of reducing SIDS by using it as a blanket.
My husband and I were horrified to check on our child in the middle of the night (our movement monitor even beeped to say he had stopped breathing) and see all this material bunched up around his face!!! I was angry, and felt guilty for trusting the claims of this product. (I just saw that another reviewer said the same thing on the cream-colored version of this same product).
I loved the idea of this combo sleepsack/swaddle. However, it is easy for a child to work his/her fingers out at the bottom of the swaddle arms - at least it is for our child. If your child can break out of other swaddles (which most of my friends kids can) then DO NOT USE THE SWADDLE PART OF THIS BLANKET!
How does is get messed up? I put our child in the sleepsack/swaddle a second time so I could watch (supervised) how the material ended up bunched up. Even with a tight swaddle, and the swaddle arms velcro'd as low as they will go on the back of the sleepsack... if the child bends their legs up at all, their fingers can start to feel the bottom of the swaddle arms. Then, the baby can work their fingers and arms out from the bottom. The result is that the swaddle part bunches up around their neck and face (even with the little tab in the back secured).
RECOMMENDATIONS: Halo should add velcro and/or snaps on the front of the swaddle arms to attach it to the sleepsack to keep it in place.
Use the "Swaddle Me" blankets instead for a safer swaddle option. There is less material, and the baby's legs actually pull down on the swaddle, so it keeps any loose material away from baby's face if the baby manages to break out. (With this HALO sleepsack/swaddle, the baby's legs don't help pull down on the swaddle arms).
Favorite swaddler March 13, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I really like this swaddler. My twins resist being swaddled (but they sleep much better swaddled) so it's important to me to have something that's fast and easy to use. I stopped using the sack when my babies outgrew it, and now I only used the outer wrap. I removed the top piece of velcro on the back of the wrap (designed to attach to the sack) because it seems like it could be irritating. I know that there's some SIDS rationale for using the sack plus the wrap, but I do the wrap really tight so I'm confident that there's no way it could come off and get over my babies' heads.
Some tips: I tighten the velcro iteratively -- I wrap the baby snuggly once, then I open up each half and re-tighten it. Also, I wrap the bottom half of my babies in a snug traditional swaddle with a blanket. They like having their legs tightly wrapped, and this system allows me to focus on their arms with the Halo wrap and on their legs with a blanket.
Very Small July 17, 2006 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
Lookslike it would be a nice product, but it's only for very small babies up to 12 pounds and 23 inches. My baby is very long and just doesn't fit - wish Target/Amazon would have been more upfront with the sizing.
