Best swaddle blanket out there, period! May 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We used half a dozen different types of blankets for our son when he was a newborn and this was the best, by far.
The most important thing is the size. It is big enough to use as a swaddle blanket for several months. Our little guy quickly outgrew the standard size receiving blankets.
This blanket is nice and lightweight, but still warm and cozy. The material is soft and washes well. I love this sage dot pattern because it is gender neutral.
The blanket material has no "give" so your little one won't undo the swaddle. It stays nice and snug, unlike the swaddle blankets that have velcro and are made with stretchy material.
It is very basic and simple (unlike one swaddle blanket which I ordered that was the strangest shape and required so much wrapping). And for those sleepless nights when you're on auto-pilot, there are even swaddling instructions located discreetly on the blanket's tag.
I would recommend purchasing two of these. We only had one the first time around since this was the last blanket we purchased (and the one we were finally happy with) so we already had tons of other blankets to use as backups when this was in the wash. We are expecting again and I'm buying a second swaddledesigns blanket, so I always have one.
Definitely worth the money!
Love these blankets! April 18, 2008 These are the BEST receiving blankets ever! I got the first one before my second baby was born, and I bought 3 more very shortly after his birth. They are big enough, soft, durable and very convenient.
BEST swaddle blanket April 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We have three of these blankets because they are the best swaddling blankets around! They are nice and big, and soft with great colors and designs. I'd highly recommend these blankets to anyone!!
Great, COZY swaddler March 23, 2008 My daughter was born in Dec so this was great for the cold weather! We wrapped this around her in her PJs even! SO CUTE and very easy to do. I HIGHLY recommend swaddling your baby to get more sleep (for both PARENTS and BABY)!
The only square flannel receiving blanket on the market March 21, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I thought it wasn't possible to have too many receiving blankets. I have more than I want to count. Within a month though after consistent swaddling, Amanda was outgrowing the receiving blankets we had, not to mention they were all rectangular which made proper swaddling a challenge.
I had a few of those kiddopatomas things and they're good too, but they don't give you the same snugness around the legs and feet that swaddling using a blanket does. I also didn't like using a blanket other than a flannel receiving blanket to swaddle because they were hard to get snug enough. So as Amanda was a February baby - she got swaddled and then we covered her with another blanket if it was chilly.
I really loved this blanket for it's size and shape. I never realized how hard it was to find a square receiving blanket until I was on the hunt to find something cheaper. I couldn't find anything cheaper. I also found that this blanket was a slightly heavier weight flannel than the ones that come 4 to a pack. Mine held up great in the wash and got softer with the frequent washings. We used it alot. Now that she's older, it will be a good lighter weight blanket too.
I also loved using it as a nursing cover. I frequently nursed while I was out and about and would try to find some quiet corner where I could throw this over my shoulder and amanda while she was eating. It covered everything I wanted it too.
