 Absolutely horrible to install November 19, 2008
It took 2 of us over an hour to first find where the belts were supposed to go in this car seat, and then to get the latch clips through the right way. The "instructions", if you can even call them that, were horrible and confusing. I mean, how hard can it be, should it be, to attach a baby's car seat into a vehicle?
This is not my first car seat, 2nd, 3rd or even 4th.
When it was *finally* in the vehicle, it was clear it's impossible to secure the &%^$ thing! No matter what we did, the straps could NOT be made tight enough to hold the seat securely.
THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. Whoever designed this car seat should be put in front of a firing squad. This is small CHILDREN you're supposed to be protecting.

We got these seat because we already had an earlier version and we liked them. My only thoughts would be that the straps need to be longer. My girls are average in size but when you put a winter coat on them there is not much extra for the strap. My oldest complains a lot that it is to tight but there is nothing more I can let out.

I bought this car seat when my son outgrew his infant car seat 3 years ago, seeing that it said it was "convertible" and thinking I would never have to buy another car seat. Well, today I went to convert it because my 3.5-year-old now weighs 40 pounds, which is the limit for using it the way we have been, forward-facing with the five-point harness.
Boy was I surprised when the instructions said to put the car seat in the car without using the LATCH system or anything, and just strap the seat belt from my car over my son sitting in it. Have they LOST THEIR MINDS? I am not going to put my wiggly three-year-old in a seat belt, I don't care how high the booster seat lifts him up. I did some research and found that most experts recommend keeping children in the five-point harness system for as long as possible (duh), and now I've got to buy a whole new car seat for my big kid. And am I annoyed.
Other than that, it worked great all this time and the only problem was that when we had it rear-facing it was very large and it was kind of cramped for the person sitting in front of him. We'll probably save it to use with our next child. I'm just so mad that they advertise this as a "convertible" for up to 100 pounds. What a rip-off.
 Own and use October 5, 2008
We own three of these between our car, sitter, and nana. With our first son we only used the infant carseat for about 3 months and then he didn't like anymore, he was a premie so small at 3 mos and he fit fine in the alpha omega. We used it for him until he was about 2 1/2 then we got him a car seat/booster seat and gave the alpha omega to our younger son (It was a cost effective move). It fit in our chevy tracker, my mom's convertible sebring, my dodge grand caravan, and the sitters F150. The straps are easy to adjust and the cover comes off to clean relatively easily. I've washed very part of it. I love the latch. Depending on the car the recline varies.

I own two of these carseats, one for my 3 year old and another for my 1 year old. I first went to a baby store and sat my older child in various carseats. He's tall and lanky and never fit well in seats such as the Triumph or Britax. But he fit quite well in this car seat.
Both of my kids are very happy and comfortable in it. I personally have not had any problems with the straps or buckles, and it's easy to adjust the height/straps. It really reclines, so my kids nap comfortably in it. As a person who had owned a Combi, a Graco and an Evenflo, the Cosco Alpha-Omega Elite has been far superior to these others. I highly recommend it.
