NEVER AGAIN!!! January 16, 2007 this was the 2nd eddie bauer travel system i purchased in 18 months.the first one, the material started to fray after 10 months. especially around the headrest.i returned it to babies r us,with a bit of an argument they gave me a new one.ive only had this one for 8 months now and the footbar came off. but the worst was,we were on vacation and we couldnt get the stroller to open.i called the dorel co. and after having to send them all pieces of the stroller and infant seat to show that it was destroyed ,along with my receipt, they will be refunding my money completely.they were very helpful.i am not one to buy for a "name" but i liked the looks of this one,i didnt see any bad reviews, and i figured eddie bauer, cant go wrong, but was i way wrong.id think twice before buying anything with that name again!
Too big! October 30, 2006 I thought we needed the "system", but we really didn't...
In Southern California, most of our travel is by car, so the car seat was important and I was looking forward to just transfering baby to the stroller at the mall or wherever without him waking, but the "click" upon joining the two would shock him awake and he would get SO HOT! The shade isn't large enough and the stroller took up the whole trunk!
I don't think these issues are specific to the model... Next time I'll just buy the frame stroller or a 3-in-1 carseat and light-weight stroller seperately, since that's what my son's been using since about 6 months when he was just too heavy to be carried around in a carrier that weighed as much as he did.
One good thing though was how the carrier fit at table level between a booth seat and the table. My son could watch us, but we had our hands free to eat... :-)
Great Product September 12, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love Eddie Bauer Travel System. It is true that the stroller is bigger than some other ones. But it is strong. Sometimes I use the stroller basket as a shopping cart. You can fill 3 or 4 bags full of groceries. The wheels are bigger than other brands, which make it easier on a bumppy road. I have no problem folding and opening the stroller. It was a little bit stiff in the beginning, but it was not a big deal. However, I wish it had a bigger canopy for more shade in the sun. Overall it is a great product.
My son is now 2 years old. We've been using this stroller and enfant seat (as our 2nd carseat) almost everyday, and still it looks good and works great. I'm looking forward to using it for our 2nd child.
Great Carseat; but Stroller is just "okay". September 3, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The car seat is very comfortable, but only can be used for a short time period-- may be 7 or 8 months. It should be checked & tightened before each use. I wished the stroller was more versitile and could be pushed backwards and forwards (where the handlebar can be moved so baby is facing you) but you can only push it forward. It is heavy, and not the easiest to open and close. It was a gift, but I wouldn't choose it myself. The stroller is actually nice when in use, and I liked all the cup holder features -- 2 for you and one for baby too. But I couldn't get over the bulkiness and I couldn't manage it on my own. Folding it up for transportation was impossible while trying to manage baby as well, so I got a nice lighter umbrella stroller as well. But we still used this one for when baby needs to recline & sleep or have shade.
DISFUNCTIONAL August 29, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I received this travel system as a gift, although it looked very nice and the baby was definately comfortable in the infant seat and the stroller, it is not very functional. The infant seat did not fit snuggly in my backseat, it flipped on it's side one day as I was making a turn, with the baby in it. The stroller is very heavy. There is nothing to grab to lift it into the car, so I would use the axle. I only used the stroller for about 5 months and condition of it was terrible. The fabric where my daughter's feet were got all bally, same with the hood. The zipper broke on the back, the plastic tires wore out quickly, and there was absolutely no air flow for the baby. I had to return the stroller to the manufacturer and I am now waiting for my refund. All in all, the infant seat and the stroller are VERY DISFUNCTIONAL!
