About Graco In 1942, Russell Gray and Robert Cone formed Graco Metal Products, in Philadelphia, PA. For 11 years, the firm fabricated machine and car parts for local manufacturers. In 1953, Gray left the firm, leaving Cone as sole owner. Cone decided to manufacture his own line of products, but had trouble coming up with ideas. Enter David Saint, an engineer, tinkerer, and stained glass artisan who worked for Graco. Saint, himself a father of nine, was intrigued when an associate told him how his wife would soothe their tired and cranky baby while swinging in a backyard glider swing. Acting on this inspiration, he went to the drawing board and 18 months of hard work later, the world's first wind-up infant swing, the Graco Swyngomatic, was born. Graco sold millions of Swyngomatics in the coming years, becoming one of the world's leading manufacturers of juvenile products in the process. Today, Graco is a Newell Rubbermaid company, with 1500 associates worldwide. While a half-century has brought many changes to Graco, their dedication and commitment to designing and manufacturing top-quality products remains, and continues on. What's in the Box Graco Nautilus 3-in 1 Toddler Car Seat (Matrix).

In & Out Not so Easy November 21, 2008 This is a nice car seat and fits the needs of a beefy 3-year old who still needs a 5-pt harness but was too big (height & Weight) for more common 40-lb limit seats. It is comfortable and should last my son until he can sit in a backlees booster or without a booster. The problem areas are getting a 37-lb 40-inch tall child in and out, especially with a thick winter coat. The arm rests do not raise up, so it is like getting out of an armchair. Also, the buckle seems to stick, and I have a hard time unlatching it. The buckle that comes up from the crotch has no easy way to keep it forward when getting in, so my son always ends up sitting square on top of it and I have to reach under his bum and fish for the mechanism and pull it back up between his legs. Finally, as it is a convertible seat, it sits lower in the car making it more difficult for my little guy to see out the window. In a nutshell, it has annoying little inconveniences. However, it is a very nice, comfortable, economical alternative when you are only 1 year away from going to a booster.
Good but with one problem November 21, 2008 We bought this chair for our 3 year old when he outgrew his regular car seat. We like this chair with the adjustable head rest and the ability to change over to a booster. The one complaint I have is that it is very easy for my son to reach down and loosen his 5 point harness straps. All he has to do is get hold of the tightening strap at the bottom, pull it up and it releases the straps so that they are completely loose. And now that he is bigger, he knows how to reach under to release the button himself. Other than that, it is a good seat for a decent price.
Best carseat for big kids November 19, 2008 I ordered this product from Amazon on a Sat night, it got here by Tues afternoon and it is amazing. My son who is just 3 is very large and outgrew normal carseats. This thing is great for him, easy to install and well worth every penny. Every time he has been in it, he falls asleep, he is so comfortable. If you are wavering between britax or this, get this one.
Just what we needed! November 18, 2008 We needed to move my 3 year old into a new seat so my 11 month old could get out of the infant seat. This seat is solid, easy to install, and will fit for a few more years. Perfect.
Great carseat November 17, 2008 I just love this car seat. It is comfortable for my daughter, easy to install, and easy to strap her in. No complaints here.
