 Sturdy crib - great value July 5, 2008
I purchased this crib (2 of them in brown) back in February 2008 from another retailer. It is a great value. It looks great! It feels fairly sturdy. The drawer is not the sturdiest, however, it is a lot better than I thought based on the reviews...it is very handy for sheets and blankets. The crib light is also helpful. All pieces were in the box - and there was no damage. We are able to attach mobiles and other crib toys to the edge of the crib (thought I would mention since some cribs you cannot do that due to the size of the railing) I would purchase again. Check the recall list to make sure the particular model is not on the list.
 Aspen Crib Review - Not so great! March 3, 2008
I also ordered this crib after reading the rave reviews. It arrived promptly and the boxes were in good shape. However, when I started to unpack I noticed a very significant gouge on tow of the bars of the fixed sides. Since it was on the side that would face the wall I figured I could deal with it. However, when I got to the last part of assembly, which was putting the moveable side in, I noticed the rail connecter on the lower half was completely broken off. There were no pieces of plastic in the box so I can only assume it happened before packing. Without this piece the crib is unusable. Target no longer stocks it. Simplicity for Kids was very efficient and is sending a replacement part that is hopefully the right one. I would actually return the crib, but we are leaving next week to get our daughter and don't have time. Overall, I'd give this crib a lower rating. Just wasn't the sturdy crib I was hoping it would be. I hope the replacement part changes my perception as well as the functionality.

I was a little nervous since I ordered this crib and then read the many reviews complaining of damaged goods. However, I have to say that even though the boxes the crib came in were beat up, the crib itself was in great shape. It didn't take that long for my husband and I to put it together, though we did have a good laugh over the line in the instruction manual "you may need a second person to help". It would have been really hard to put together by myself. I love the drawer that goes underneath, and have found it's a great place to store the extra mattress pads and sheets. It is a very sturdy crib, and after playing with it a bit there are no problems that I can see.
 Absolutely horrible! August 10, 2005
The first one I bought had a wooden mattress support and my light weight 2 year old broke one of the wooden slats. So I called graco as his mattress could have fallen through and they replaced it. (The one with the wooden support was recalled) So they sent me an entirely new crib which was very helpful. The new crib was fine except that the drop side malfunctions horribly. Half the time you can't even get it to go down. I'm not sure whats wrong with it but I'm sure there are better safer cribs for your baby for the same price.

Arrived in perfect condition. Fairly easy to put together. I love the extra space the drawer gives for blankets etc. Great price! Also came with a night light that plays a lullabuy. Love it!
