What a disappointment July 8, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Having been a CR subscriber for years now, they were the first I turned to on recommendations for gear for our first baby. In the store, I never even bothered to open the book and look at it because I trusted that if it was written by CR, it had to be quality. When I got home and started leafing through it, I found that MANY sections had no recommendations at all. They simply listed different manufacturers of the products. This was not helpful information--I could've found this on any store's website. I highly recommend taking a look at Baby Bargains, by Denise & Alan Fields, instead. It is jam-packed with great information and is updated frequently to stay current. It has been infinitely more useful than this book.
DON"T BUY IT! May 7, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Buy 'Baby Bargins' instead!!!! I looked at this book at Barnes and Nobel, but didn't buy it. Only a few products were reviewed.....and the reviews weren't very good. Also, only a few categories were reviewed. The baby bargins book has detailed reviews on all brands in several categories.
Incomplete Guide March 31, 2007 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Regular readers of Consumer Reports will be disappointed in this list of products. It doesn't put baby products to the test.
Not much to report ... January 12, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was disappointed. The book provides a lot of information on "how to buy" (buying guides), but little information on "WHAT to buy" (recommended brands). Most items are NOT actually tested/reviewed ... the book merely provides a list of brands available - which I could get by walking into any baby store. Hoping 9th Edition is more complete.
Awesome January 10, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
