The replacement valves are just that...replacement valves. I haven't had to replace many to date...but I had to replace one shortly after purchasing the cups. I've learned how to wash them without breaking them...you have to be gentle with the little clear like plastic in the hole of the valve...if you're not careful you'll break it.
