Its a wonderful cup, but I think at 9 months, it might be a little difficult to handle and to sip from. Our granddaughter did not like it at first, but I do think that in time, she will learn to like it. She likes to toss it about, but won't drink from it. Give it time. Would recommend for a 1 year old. Price was good.
