this bottle is excellent to my baby October 1, 2008 I just changed this bottle from glass evenflow (4oz) to born free for 3 weeks because my baby now is 10 month old and she dislikes formula at this time. I did use Dr. Brown for my first kid before. However, I have problem on cleaning this bottle. It is really hard to clean the straw which must be used in the bottle. Whenever I washed this bottle, I needed to use small brush to clean the straw every time.... Too many stuff. You would not like to take more time on this part. Now I am happy to have this born free, no more straw. Everything is easy to clean. My second baby safely and gradually drinks a lot. It seems that she starts to accept formula after using born free. A perfect product.
Worth the effort and price September 30, 2008 There is an extra attachment that I didn't know about (the anti-drip nozzle that goes over the opening of the bottle), which makes handwashing a chore. But overall worth it, due to it's safe non-chemical plastics. Worth the money, too, as safety is a top priority for me. It's worth spending the extra few dollars to ensure safety.
LOVE is an understatement! September 27, 2008 My son has been using Born Free bottles since he was about a month old. He had horrible colic, and were trying different formulas and bottles. We came across these in Longs, and decided to try them out, and never looked back. In combination with Nutramigen formula these bottles are the best thing that has ever been created. They are comfortable to hold while feeding my son, and hold 9oz. (about 10-11oz if you fill to the brim) They were a bit touchy at first but once I got the hang of it, its easy as pie. The trick is to NOT tighten them tight, but not to loose. The system isnt a hassle. For people who complain that its SO hard to figure out... you must be totally stupid. Read the directions that came in the box, it clearly states how to if you can figure it out for yourself. Occasionally the little vent thing will not vent but then I just take off the bottle and the vent and push the vent nob thingy in so the slit will open, and then reassemble. Best bottles ever created...period. Try them, and ignore the idiots.
replacement for avent product September 13, 2008 These bottles and nipples have worked well for my granddaughter. My daughter had been using Avent products before realizing that the Avent products were not BPA free. Since it wasn't worth taking a chance, she has replaced those bottles with the BornFree brand. These are a quality product and have worked well.
Just ok August 25, 2008 I bought these bottles to replace our Avent bottles, due to BPA concerns. These bottles are ok, but I like Dr. Brown's better. I use a Medela breast pump and the Born-Free bottles, like the Avent bottles, do not fit on the pump. The Dr. Brown's bottles do fit the Medela pump connectors. Like other reviewers have stated, the nipples on these bottles collapses and there are extra parts that seem useless, just more stuff to clean. It is easier for my son to hold the Dr. Brown's bottles also. I would not recommend these, there are far better bottles out there, we also use Momo glass bottles, and I am very pleased with them.
