I thought this pump sounded great. The soft massage pads sounded great. It did work well at first then i realized that the milk wasnt going into the bottle. It came up around my nipple and through the midde of the handle.To get it to go into the bottle i had to slow down and let it dripand then start over. Plus the bottles are made out of number seven plastic. You know the hard plastic that leaks BPA. I dont want to take any chances so i bought a Medela pump and it is BPA free and works great!

I bought this pump in a pinch when I was out of town and had forgotten my Medela. It was awful. I was just looking for some relief, but it took me 2 hours to get any milk out. The suction is very weak, especially compared to my Medela, which I love. I am keeping it as a back up, but after this weekend I doubt I will ever forget my pump again. If you are a new mom, do not get this pump, it will turn you off of breastfeeding. Spend the money to get a Medela, it is worth it.

This pump stimulates my let-down FAR better than my Medela Pump-In-Style electric pump. It was plenty enough to keep up my milk supply while working, and I've had no problem keeping it clean. In fact, I can't imagine how anyone could miss cleaning milk out of the pump if they'd disassembled it according to directions. I love the wide mouth of the bottles because, in a pinch, it's easy to hand-express into them without missing the bottle. The only problem I have with this pump is that several times, the rubber seal has fallen out of the pump and into the bottle below. If I can solve that problem, I'll have no issues with this pump. It's definitely worth forty bucks to our family.

I LOVE THIS PUMP!
I'M A FIRST TIME MOM AND WANTED A PUMP SO I COULD HAVE A SAFETY STASH OF MILK STORED AWAY IN TH FREEZER AND SO MY HUSBAND COULD HAVE THE ENJOYMENT OF FEEDING OUR BOY AS WELL. I CHOSE THE GERBER PUMP AFTER SEEING IT SITED AS ONE OF THE BEST MANUAL PUMP IN A BABY MAGAZINE A THE OB'S OFFICE AND COMPARED IT WITH OTHER PUMPS IN THE STORES. I FELT THAT THE CONSTRUCTION AND QUALITY OF THE MATERIALS USED WERE MUCH BETTER THAN THE OTHER ONES OF COMPARABLE PRICE.
I USE IT ABOUT 4 TO 6 TIME A DAY IMMEDIATELY AFTER NURSING MY SON FOR ABOUT 10 TO 15 MIN EACH SIDE AND WILL FILL THE BOTTLE IN ABOUT 2 SESSIONS. IT IS EASY TO ASSEMBLE, EAST TO USE ONCE YOU LEARN HOW TO ESTABLISH SUCTION, FEELS GREAT, AND IS REALLY EASY TO CLEAN(IF YOU TAKE IT APART AND CLEAN IT, AS DIRECTED, YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH CURDLED MILK OR ANYTHING). EVEN MY MOM (WHO HAS SIX CHILDREN, THE YOUNGEST BEING ONLY SIX) WAS EXTREMELY IMPRESSED WITH HOW EASY AND WELL THIS MANUAL PUMP WORKED.
I WOULD DEFINITELY BUY IT AGAIN AND HAVE SUGGESTED IT TO MY FRIEND AS WELL.
TIP - I'VE FOUND THAT SUCTION IS ESTABLISHED MUCH FASTER IF THE NIPPLE IS CENTERED IN THE PUMP AND YOU LET THE SUCTION PULL YOU IN THE ALL THE WAY.
ALSO, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! ONCE SUCTION IS ESTABLISHED YOU DO NOT NEED TO CONTINUALLY PUMP. YOU ONLY NEED TO PUMP, HOLD THE HANDLE DOWN AND WHEN IT RELEASES PUMP AND HOLD AGAIN, ETC.

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT BUY THIS PATHETIC EXCUSE OF A PUMP! THIS IS THE BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY EVER. UNLESS YOU WANT TO CRY OVER A LOST MILK SUPPLY SAVE YOUR $$ AND AVOID THIS PUMP LIKE THE PLAGUE!
I GOT THIS B/C I WAS PLANNING ON NURSING MY SON AND IT SEEMED TO BE DESIGNED WITH BABIES AND MOM'S IN MIND SO I GOT IT. IT WORKED WELL AT FIRST BUT THEN I NOTICED A FOUL STENCH. UPON TAKING THIS APART I NOTICED DESPITE MY CLEANING, A TON OF MILK MANAGED TO GET STUCK IN THE PUMP AND IT WAS CURDLED! GROSS! THEN IF THAT WASN'T BAD ENOUGH IT CRACKED ON ME THE NEXT WEEK! FOR THE $$ I PAID I EXPECTED BETTER QUALITY FROM GERBER. SINCE MY SON WAS PREMATURE AND I COULDN'T AFFORD ANOTHER PUMP I LOST MY SUPPLY WHEN HE WAS 5 WEEKS OLD. ANOTHER COUPLE OF WEEKS AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO NURSE HIM BUT THIS PUMP FAILED MISERABLY. IF I WOULD HAVE HAD MEDELA, I WOULD HAVE KEPT IT UNTIL HE STARTED TO NURSE BUT THANKS IN PART TO THIS PUMP, I LOST THE BEST THING I COULD HAVE GIVEN TO MY SON, AND THAT IS WHAT MAKES THIS THE BIGGEST WASTE OF $$ EVER, B/C NOTHING CAN REPLACE BREAST MILK.
MOMMIES, STAY AWAY FROM THIS AND STICK ONLY TO MEDELA OR AMEDA. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GET A PUMP FROM A COMPANY THAT TRULY HAS NURSING MOMS IN MIND, GERBER MAY HAVE SOME OK PRODUCTS BUT THIS PUMP IS NOT ONE OF THEM. DO NOT ENTRUST GERBER WITH YOUR LIQUID GOLD!
IF I COULD GIVE THIS PUMP ZERO STARS I WOULD. THIS ONLY GETS A STAR BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY TO RATE THIS ZERO STARS. OTHERWISE I RATE THIS, ZERO, CERO, GOOSE EGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
