Expensive but it works! January 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Our son has acid reflux and has it turns out protein sensitivity. We tried regular formula, RS, Soy, even Alimentum to no avail. After multiple pediatrician visits and finally a trip to the ER we were told to go on this by a GI specialist and it worked!!! This is very expensive without insurance help, $135 for a case shipped from Neocate's website, their standard shipping is very fast in our case. (Do a Google search for coupon codes for another 10% - 15% off on their website, the codes randomly change but a quick Google search for Neocate coupons should give you the current code(s).) It will vary from state to state but if you can get your Dr. to write a prescription for this it SHOULD be covered by insurance. Check the reimbursement section on Neocates website for more information regarding your state. Obviously this isn't a 1st choice for formula but if your child is having trouble or not wanting to eat, spitting up, has colic, etc. you may want to talk to your Pediatrician about this wonderful formula. It's worth every penny in our case. :-)
neocate formula works July 19, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As indicated - its expensive about $47 per can at CVS. The neocate website does not charge s/h and sells it for $135 case. Insurance usually won't cover unless your child falls into the 3-5% growth area. Our son has acid reflux and dairy allergies and we have been denied by oxford three times. 1st just because, 2nd for not having allergies, 3rd for not using soy even though the Dr said in his notes he had a high probability of an allergy. State laws don't apply if your benefits are provided by your employer.
Absolutely the best infant formula May 10, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Our daughter has severe GER and we tried everything from prilosec to every formula out there enfamil, similac, etc... As last resort our pediatrician said to try Neocate. We have been using it for a month and all symptoms are gone. It's very easy to mix and daughter loves it.
Only thing is its expensive so if you can get your insurance company to cover it that will help. Some states have laws that force them to cover it with a doctors note.
