Product Description Bumbo Baby Sitter The Bumbo Baby Sitter is a revolutionary new concept with world wide patent rights, uniquely designed according to the baby's posture. It is certainly a different take on high chairs and boosters. The baby seat will allow baby to independently sit upright from as young as 3 months up to an age of approximately 14 months. The baby Bumbo seat provides a snug and cozy environment for the baby. For parents looking for something other than non-traditional boosters such as the Fisher Price Space Saver or Edushape Hi Seat, the Bumbo Seat is for you. The Bumbo infant seat is manufactured to the highest safety standards from low-density foam material, which helps make these baby seats lighter and more portable. The seat is soft and comfortable for the baby. The Bumbo Baby Sitter is safe, hygienic and non-toxic with an integral outer skin of durable, easy to clean material. The Bumbo Baby Sitter baby seat is versatile and does not require any uncomfortable straps or fasteners and is designed so baby's own body gently keeps it in place. The Bumbo Seat should only be used on a flat ground level surface and should not be used until your baby is fully able to support its head. Depending upon the individual development of the child, some babies will be able to climb out of the Bumbo seat so never leave the child unattended.

Not safe and not worth it May 15, 2008 Our daughter tired of this really quickly (as in 30 seconds) when 3 to 5 months. For about one month, she sat in it for about 5 minutes at a time contently, and then after that she became so mobile that it was unsafe to leave her in it all. She could arch her back or lean forward and fall right out.
Bumbo Fun March 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A friend gave her (lavender) Bumbo to us, and it's great. I only gave it 4 stars because they should come with trays and/or be less expensive. Also, it cannot be used as a booster seat at the table since there are no straps...sad.
Without the tray, it's good for helping a baby sit, but any active baby will be able to get out, no matter how big or small they are! Keep it on carpet, in sight, and (for heaven's sake!) on the floor. When my daughter was very little, she would "arch" out backwards, although her preferred exit method became a sort of sideways cartwheel as she got older. At 14 months, she still likes sitting and kicking in her special chair.
With a tray, it would be great for feeding/snacking at home in the kitchen. The tray pops on very tightly so your baby can no longer escape. His/her own weight will keep it from tipping over, but - still - stay close and don't set it anywhere but the floor!!! Bonus: it wipes clean easily - no little nooks/crannies!
It's not a bouncer, a bath seat, or even a booster, but it is a nice comfy chair for your little one. If you can afford to get this as well as a booster seat or high chair, I recommend it. (You can always put it on your registry and let Grandma decide... :-)
Nice, but not necessary March 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I thought I would use this seat a lot more than I do. I think I like it more than my son. I like to put my son in it so I can talk to him while I get ready in the morning. He only can sit in it about 15 minutes before he gets restless and wants to be in his bouncer or playmat or somewhere he can move around. He doesn't like sitting still, so this really isn't for him. If you are debating between this and a bouncer, I would go with a bouncer.
This product isn't dangerous if you use common sense while using it. Many people where putting their children in a Bumbo on top of a table and then walking away to do something and the child fell. As long as you are watching your child and keep it on the ground it is perfectly safe.
Wait to see if your baby tends to spit up March 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for my second child before he was born. Babies can use it from about 3 months old. Once they start sitting up on their own (often around 6 months old) they won't have much use for this product. So that's a window of about 3 months that this product is most useful. Well, my baby often spit up and so I couldn't put him in this chair without the sitting position causing him to spit up. Now he's 6 months old and doesn't hardly spit up anymore, but now sits up well on his own so he doesn't need the chair. So I hardly ever used this product. My advice would be to wait to purchase this seat until your child is about 2 months old and see if they frequently spit up. Once he started sitting up a bit on his own I just set him inside a Boppy pillow to give him a little support and that worked great. The product I used the most and would highly recommend is the Baby Bjorn Baby Sitter. I used it since my baby was born and still use it. Now I really only use it to put him in when I shower but we used to use it all the time. Now he prefers to either sit up on his own or go in the Exersaucer, Jumperoo or swing.
****ATTENTION**** March 5, 2008 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
This product is being recalled due to the possibility of severe injury that can be sustained when a child leans back in this! They can easily smack their heads on the ground or (god forbid) fall out of a chair if Bumbo is placed on a chair. Needed to let you in on this.
