Product Description Bumbo Baby Sitter The Bumbo Baby Sitter is a revolutionary new concept with world wide patent rights, uniquely designed according to the baby's posture. It is certainly a different take on high chairs and boosters. The baby seat will allow baby to independently sit upright from as young as 3 months up to an age of approximately 14 months. The baby Bumbo seat provides a snug and cozy environment for the baby. For parents looking for something other than non-traditional boosters such as the Fisher Price Space Saver or Edushape Hi Seat, the Bumbo Seat is for you. The Bumbo infant seat is manufactured to the highest safety standards from low-density foam material, which helps make these baby seats lighter and more portable. The seat is soft and comfortable for the baby. The Bumbo Baby Sitter is safe, hygienic and non-toxic with an integral outer skin of durable, easy to clean material. The Bumbo Baby Sitter baby seat is versatile and does not require any uncomfortable straps or fasteners and is designed so baby's own body gently keeps it in place. The Bumbo Seat should only be used on a flat ground level surface and should not be used until your baby is fully able to support its head. Depending upon the individual development of the child, some babies will be able to climb out of the Bumbo seat so never leave the child unattended.

This was great for our son from about 2 months to 8 months August 31, 2008 My son was able to hold his head up well very early on. But he insisted on sitting up or being held in a standing position 8-10 hours a day. Meaning he would cry endlessly if he was put down on his tummy or back for any length of time and wanted to be a part of everything (unless he was nursing, that was one exception!). Using our high chair was okay, but limited us to the kitchen. The Bumbo allowed him to sit up independently in any room, and gave our aching arms a break. I feel as though it helped him develop stronger stomach muscles and learn to sit up better. It is very portable, so I took it with us when we went out to eat, to friend's homes and even on vacation. I also had the Bebe Pod, but the Bumbo held him better when he was smaller. Once he started crawling very well, we essentially stopped using this product because he didn't want it or need it anymore -- but it was worth every penny for us. He's now 22 months and I'm holding onto the Bumbo as we contemplate baby #2. It worked so well for us I'm looking at it as a shower gift for a few of my friends.
Not worth the money, very unsafe August 1, 2008 I have four children ages 4 and under. I started using the seat when my youngest daughter was 4 months old. It was fine in the beginning. She couldn't sit in it too long then because she wasn't strong enough. By 5 months she was ready. Problem was that she would rather be on her belly playing with toys than sitting in the chair. My daughter just turned 6 months old. I had her in the chair on the floor and went to the other side of the room. She stretched to look behind herself to find me, and flipped the chair right over. I'd say we used this about 12 times total. Now she cannot use it anymore. I think others can save their money for diapers instead. I can have her build back/neck muscles by having lots of tummy time, and sitting in her high chair, or on my lap. I am probably going to mention this to my pediatrician, too. I feel strongly that this chair is unsafe.

my 5 mo old loves her bumbo. she doesnt sit up on her own very well. this is the perfect seat for her. we purchased the tray to go with seat. love it. she can sit in her seat while playing with her toys and i dont have to keep constantly going over to her to pick them up. they stay right on the tray.
Great seat June 4, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
We got this seat for my son when he was 4 or 5 months old. He loved it. We loved that we could have him 'sit' with us before he actually could. He also did the 'arch their back' thing to try to wiggle out--but since he was always supervised, it wasn't a big deal. We'd just take him out of it then. And he may have gotten out of it that way once, but since it's so close to the ground, it certainly didn't hurt him at all. I think he thought it was funny.
Here's the thing, though. He grew out of it and was totally disinterested in it for awhile. But now that he's two (and has a 3 month old baby sister), he LOVES the Bumbo. He likes to sit in it now while we read books before bedtime, and drags it around with him.
Another plus for the Bumbo: The material that it's made out of wipes clean really easily. My kids both have explosive diapers, and while it stains fabrics of other kinds of seats, the Bumbo looks good as new.
It is kind of pricey, and I balked at the price at first, but I'm really glad that we bought it.
Great for tummy time...use with caution May 18, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bough the Bumbo at my pediatrician's recommendation for our daughter. She spit up a lot and didn't like tummy time, so we put her in the Bumbo at age 3 months (when she could hold her head up well) to help strengthen her tummy muscles. By 4 1/2 months old, my daughter would arch her back and almost fall out of the chair, so we stopped using it. These chairs need to be used with extreme supervision and never on high or hard surface because babies can fall out of them. The Bumbo is a good alternative to doing "tummy time" however parents must be vigilant when using this product.
