Product Description "Goldi" pacifier, in high demand by organic-conscious parents. Pure caoutchouc (rubber) is a sustainable raw material, produced from collected tree sap of the rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis). After the tree sap (known as latex) is harvested, proteins are isolated and discarded, and the remaining pure rubber is dried and preserved. Since allergic reaction may be caused by the proteins present in latex, this process ensures that the resulting pure rubber is a non-allergenic material. Its protective shield is soft and flat, allowing the muscles of the mouth and the lips to have freedom of movement and thus encouraging muscle activity and development. The shield is larger than conventional pacifier shields in order to prevent the baby from squeezing the flexible material enough to fit into its mouth. The shield will also not leave marks on the baby's face. Three large ventilation apertures help prevent skin irritation caused by prolonged contact with saliva. The nipple is soft, malleable and symmetrical. As a result, the tongue has plenty of room for movement. Due to the symmetrical rounded shape of the nipple, it is a good imitation of the shape of the mother's breast. Since the pacifiers are molded in one piece, the nipple and the shield are connected securely, thus preventing the pacifier from falling apart. Also, there are no joints or cracks for bacteria to accumulate. The grip ring is soft and comfortable for the baby during tummy time. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Must be sterilized before first use by boiling for several minutes. To be washed carefully after every use under running water - should be sterilized for babies younger than six months of age.

Awesome July 24, 2008 After looking for days for a round latex soother I found these. The ones that my son took had been discontinued by Gerber. I tried every other soother out on the market and he will ONLY take round latex soothers. Well, I received these yesterday and he took to it immediately. He also loves to just chew on them when he his "teeth" are bothering him! The rubber doesn't have a smell or taste to it at all! I will definately buy more of these after he goes through the 6-12 month stage. I am a VERY happy mother! Thank you soooo much! I highly recommend this product.
Great Paci!! June 7, 2008 This pacifier was a great purchase! Not only does it comfort my son as well as any other, but it is BPA free as well, lessening concerns of my baby contracting any negative, BPA-related side effects. We like it a LOT! The only negative feedback I have about it is that if you hold it on your finger by the handle, it doesn't come off as easily as a molded, hard plastic-type pacifier.
Horrible horrible pacifier! May 31, 2008 I tried this on my daughter, and she kept spitting it out and making a face. I wondered what was going on and decided to pop it in my mouth. Yuck!!! The other poster is right! This tastes like what chewing on a rubberband would be like! Disgusting. I bought it because it was a one-piece, but I'm sticking with the two-piece silicone pacifiers from Playtex. Unfortunately, I can't even return this one because I'd lose out on shipping and would have to pay to ship it back. I'll just count this as an $11 mistake.
Nice May 10, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I recently got one for my granddaughter. A friend of mine in Germany recommended them - in Europe babies commonly use them, but they're tough to find here. The EU is quite advanced in terms of eco-friendly products and has the world's strictest environmental oversight for childrens products in terms of taking out toxins and allergens. They're definitely well built and even though they initially smell like rubber, they're tasteless. (I did a quick taste test) They're a great product and I imagine that they're going to become much more popular here fairly soon.
Unsavory and not hypoallergenic May 9, 2008 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
Both of our kids spit this out immediately. The taste was just too much. It turns out that these aren't the safe type of rubber anyway. They are made from the same tree that commercial latex is made from. This tree - Hevea brasiliensis - is not the source of hypoallergenic latex. Guayule is the only safe, or at least hypoallergenic, source of latex.
