The Deuter KangaKid quickly transforms from a functional backpack to a child carrier when your young explorer gets too tired to walk! A sleek profile and compact design make the KangaKid ideal when space is limited. The safety features and German engineering of the KangaKid ensure an enjoyable adventure for you and your child. With the zip-away child seat contained behind the main compartment of the pack body, the KangaKid offers 1850 cubic inches of storage and a carrying capacity of up to 30 lbs., including child, pack and gear. An integrated child safety belt and harness offer security and allow for easy handling and adjustment. Buckled side-entry points make it easier to move children in our out of the safety seat. The KangaKid utilizes Deuter's Alpine Back System, comprised of two vertical foam strips that provide stability and comfort while providing a "chimney" at the spinal column for ventilation. Anatomically contoured shoulder straps complement the foam strips, providing flexibility, comfort and precision fit. Soft, breathable fabrics and ventilated pads in the back, shoulder straps and waistbelt help to keep you cool and comfortable on your adventures. Load-lifter straps, combined with the shoulder and lumbar padding effectively distribute weight throughout the pack, further ensuring stability and comfort. An aluminum stay supports the child seat and the Alpine Back System. The KangaKid is comprised of a single main compartment with top access. Two zippered front pockets with internal organizers provide further storage options and a large front "stuff-it" pocket allows you to quickly stow unneeded layers or items that you'd prefer to keep close at hand. The KangaKid also includes side elastic mesh pockets for transporting water or baby bottles, a 3M reflector for high visibility, and an elastic attachment cord.
