Great hybrid sling/wrap September 14, 2008 If you're into the sling thing but are unsure of some of the more complicated wraps, this is a great in-between. It has more structure than a ring wrap or something like the Moby wrap, but it's more flexible than a Baby Bjorn or other carrier. Comfy, versitile, and easy to use. I have several slings, each with its own purpose, and I highly recommend this one.
Will never use my baby bjorn again! August 22, 2008 OMG I am in love with this carrier! My daughter is 2 and a half months old and weighs 13 lbs I tired a sling and hated it I liked the baby bjorn but even the one with the lumbar supprt hurt my shoulders. the Mei Tai is amazing, my baby LOVES it, it feels amazingly secure and it's super simple to use! I am a firm believer now, I am going to recommend this to all my mommy friends!
FIRST TIME MOMMY.. August 20, 2008 THESE IS THE BEST MEI TAI EVER I LOVE IT AND SO DOES MY 8 MONTH OLD.. I WISH I COULD HAVE PURCHASED IT WHEN SHE WAS A NEW BORN .BUT IT'S STILL SOOOO WORTH IT .
Truly the Ultimate Mei Tai! July 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love baby carriers, and I thought I had seen them all. How much difference can their be between two different brands of Mei Tais? Amazingly, the Ultimate Baby Mei Tai by Parents of Invention really is just that...the ULTIMATE!
The Ultimate Baby Mei Tai has all of the abilities of a standard Mei Tai, with extra bonuses thrown in! Your child can be worn in FIVE different positions (and it comes with an instructional book to prove it) The Ultimate Mei Tai can be used with newborns up to age three.
It was actually easier for me to hold my 3 year old in the Ulitmate Mei Tai than I anticipated. In fact, I brought the Ultimate Mei Tai on our recent airplane trip so that I could wear him while sprinting through the airport while my husband wore our younger child in another carrier.
What else do I love about the Ulitmate Mei Tai? It really has the needs of the parent in mind (that is because everything at Parents of Invention is actually invented by a parent!). See those two long straps?
The white fabric on the end of one of the ties is a small zippered pocket, about 2X2; the perfect size for stashing a pacifier! The other strap has a 7 inch long zippered pocket in the black fabric next to the white piece. It is a great size for a wallet/checkbook. If you have a checkbook. If not, it will hold a lot of ATM cards, too, or your car keys.
The big white square on the back of the child is also a zippered pouch. What do you want to stash in there? A spare diaper? A granola bar? It would be nice to leave the house with all the necessities and not have to lug a bulky diaper bag. Another neat bonus is that the Ultimate Mei Tai comes with a fleece blanket that has a hood, great for draping over your baby when his or her little head is sticking out of the top of your Ultimate Mei Tai on a windy day.
I have always loved the idea of baby wearing. If you would like to try it and feel a little intimidated, check out informative web sites like www.wrapyourbaby.com or www.mamatoto.org. That way you can be "in the know" without having to ask questions to a stranger. I find it easier to use a carrier than a stroller, even with an older toddler. It gives me much more mobility because I'm not limited to where wheels can travel.

I tried 2 carriers before I ordered this one. The others were so difficult to put on and get my baby into that by the time he was strapped in, he was red-faced and screaming from frustration. This carrier is versatile and easy to use, because I can put him in quickly, easily, and without anyone's help. I would recommend this to anyone.
