We like this potty! July 4, 2008 Being an asthetic person, I really like the look of this potty. It has a cover that closes - it's a nice and neat look for a potty. When it's closed all you see is white. You see the blue seat only when it's open. We have just started introducing our daughter to potty training and although my daughter has yet to go in it, she enjoys sitting and trying. She just turned 2 years old and is average for weight and height and has no problems sitting down and getting up on her own. The seat size works for her, yet will still be an appropriate size as she gets older. My daughter is a bit picky with how things feel and fit - and she has no problems with this potty. She likes to sit on it and stays seated in the correct position. She holds onto the handles. She likes to open and close the cover, and also uses it as a step stool. I am planning on purchasing a second for the upstairs.
Not great for boys. June 23, 2008 This potty is sturdy, attractive and seems comfortable BUT it has not been great for my son. The urine guard is too low and it seems to have too many parts. Urine regularly gets sprayed across my bathroom floor making a mess or it somehow goes between the removable seat and the potty base and gets under the potty. That makes an even bigger mess because then you have to clean the floor, the potty bowl, the seat and the potty base.
Wonderful potty chair! June 23, 2008 I've never written a review before, but just had to put my two cents in for this potty chair. This is the third one we've gotten for my three year old and she absolutely loves it! It is the perfect size for her (most other potties are way too small for a preschooler). She refused to use the potty until we got this one. It has been wonderful. I do agree with some of the other reviews in that there are a lot of little areas under the seat to clean, but everything is easy to get to. Ours also arrived with scuff marks on the lid, but was obviously not used, so don't know what happened there. Overall, this product is wonderful for the price. It is high quality and easy to use all around!
Great throne! June 6, 2008 Although our son is still too little to get potty trained I went ahead and got this for him so he could start "sitting" on it and getting acquainted with it. I figure it's never too early to start the process. The potty is nice and sturdy and its parts seem like they will be easy to clean (they all detach). It also serves as a stepping stool which we are using right now for teeth brushing/hand washing. Perfect little potty for the price!
I am not impressed. June 5, 2008 I chose this potty for my son because of the good reviews. I do not like it. I'm honestly baffled by all the great reviews now that I have this thing in front of me.
1)It is made of cheap material, feels flimsy, the grips on the bottom of the thing do nothing to keep it in place when the child sits on it.
2)It comes apart into 5 or 6 different pieces and all my son likes to do is take it apart. I did not want a potty that would turn into a toy, and this has just become like a puzzle for him, with all the different pieces.
3)It is a little big for him. He is young still but he's a big boy for his age. I looked at one of the pictures posted and he looks about the same size as the curly haired kid reading the book, but the potty in that picture is NOT this potty! This one is a little bigger and he can't get quite touch his feet on the ground, which is important.
4)And one final thing, maybe most importantly, the "soft" seat is not so soft. Doesn't seem very comfortable to me. It's just plastic on top of plastic... and after my son sits on it for just a few minutes his butt has horrible red marks all over it! Definitely not comfortable.
So, overall, i'm not impressed at all.
I gave it 2 stars because... it gets the job done I suppose, and for a child a little bit older than my son it might fit a little better. Also I really liked the idea that it was 4-in-1.
Overall though, I do not suggest getting this potty. Look elseware!
It's probably best to actually go to a store and look at them first hand, and not order online. That's what I should have done in the first place.
