The Go-Go Kidz TravelMate quickly and easily attaches to most convertible or toddler car seats. It has 5-inch wheels and a telescopic handle for easily wheeling your child in his or her car seat. Since the FAA strongly recommends that children under 40 pounds use a car seat for air travel, the TravelMate saves you the hassle of hauling your car seat -- and your active toddler, plus all your gear -- through the airport. Works great...You don't have to put it through the X-ray machine! August 19, 2008

We recently took a trip from Phoenix to Washington DC with a layover in Texas. We needed to take our Britax Roundabout car seat because we were not renting a car in DC and needed a car seat for the shuttle and taxicabs. This item allowed us to take the car seat with ease and no fuss. We practiced attaching the cart to our seat the night before the trip and I am glad we did. The directions are not very clear and it took us some time to decipher them. Once we figured it out, my husband was able to attach and detach our car seat without any help from me.
At the airport, we simply asked security for a hand-check so that we dd not have to put it through the X-ray machine and they had no problem with this. We did take the wheels off on the plane but the cart fit nicely under the seat in front of us. We had enough time once the plane landed and we had time to reattach the wheels before it was our turn to exit the plane. We had a lot of travelers stop us to ask us about the go go kidz since they were also looking for a solution to traveling with car seats.
In DC, we loved the ease of using our car seat as a stroller. It allowed us to wheel our son onto the metro, ride to our destination and even have his car seat in Taxicabs when we needed it. The wheels stayed on the seat in all of our taxi and shuttle rides. It was awesome.
I did not give it 5 stars as I think there is room for improvement (better directions, more stability) but over all I would highly recommend this product for travels with Toddlers!

We bought two of these for our kid's (4 years and 21 months) car seats(Britax Roundabouts) for our trip from DC to Hawaii (11 hours of flying via Chicago). We attached them at home and then belted them into the car as-is. They functioned wonderfully and we had no reason to take them apart to get through security (went through security in DC, Honolulu, Maui, and Kauai)as other reviews have referenced. Our kids loved cruising through the airports in them and it eliminated the "I don't want to walk" whining we sometimes hear. We took a gamble that they could function as our stroller as well on our trip (figured I could always pick up a cheap umbrella stroller once there if I got desperate), but had no need to do so. We used them as our strollers at the various places/attractions we visited. I highly recommend this product and feel is was the best $80 each I spent on something like this in a while. If you travel a lot or have a long trip ahead, I'd really consider purchasing this product.

We used two of these with our two year old twins recently and had a generally pleasant experience. It's a breeze wheeling your kids around the airport. When our kids were not in their carseats they loved pushing them around the airport. We had no trouble getting through security, they fit through the X-ray machines with the wheels attached. TSA will also do hand inspection if you request it. The only minor problem was getting the seat attached while on the plane. There is not much room to maneuver the seat belts through the back. Our flight attendant said we could not use seat belt extenders with carseats. If your airline still pre-boards, take advantage of it so your not working up a sweat trying to get your carseats belted in. I also think it makes sense to slip the wheels off when securing on the airplane. If we were only traveling with one toddler, I don't think it would be worth the expense, but with two, it makes all the difference.

I was extremely disappointed with this product. I had very high hopes that it would be easy to use and would help us manage our daughter and her car seat in the airport. We used it on two trips last summer, which involved going through security in 4 airports and it didn't fit through the x ray in any of them! I also couldn't get any TSA agent to hand screen it, so I had to disassemble it and then reassemble it after security screening. It also doesn't fit down the aisle so we had to carry it and the carseat over the seats to our row. We also couldn't get it to fit in the airplane seat with it on, so it had to come off again for the flight. That meant we had to take it apart and put it back together a total of 3 times from the airport to the rental car. Also, the base of our carseat (Cosco Alpha Omega Elite) didn't work with the Go Go Kidz, so we had to carry that piece separately. This summer, we spent $30 on a rolling shaped duffle type bag that fit the car seat and has back pack style straps. I think it will be a much better investment. I hope I'll be able to sell it and recoup some of our cost.

My husband and I just took our daughter on her first flight and I'm so glad I found the Go Go Kidz TravelMate before we traveled! I just couldn't imagine having to trek through any airport having to haul our toddler and her bulky car seat around, so I purchased the TravelMate online. When it arrived at our home, before our trip, my husband just thought it was another example of frivolous spending. By the first leg of our journey he said it was quite helpful. When we got home, after our trip, he admitted he couldn't have managed without the TravelMate and that our money was well spent on it. The TravelMate was indeed a huge blessing! It's quick and easy to attach and remove, and fits nicely in an Express Jet's tiny overhead compartment. Also an added plus, is that your child's already familiar with their car seat, so they aren't startled by a strange new contraption. If you're headed out to an airport soon, be sure you've got a Go Go Kidz TravelMate with you!
