Amazon.com Product Reviews
An innovative design for a lightweight tandem stroller, the Joovy Caboose ultralight stand-on tandem stroller manages to fit into a 21-pound stroller all of the feature--and then some--of a traditional sit-and-stand. The front seat of the Caboose can fit a variety of infant car seat carriers, and once the child is older than six months, they can be strapped in with a traditional five-point harness. It also has two reclining positions, adjustable footrest, tray with drink holder, and a full canopy. The rear section is for children 2.5 years and older and less than 44 inches tall. While standing they have foam-padded handles, and the padded rear seat gives them a break. Just lock the rear bench seat and buckle the three-point harness, and you're ready to maneuver your way indoors and out. The Neoprene parent organizer is handy, and stow your diaper bag underneath (although, it could stand to be a little larger). The aluminum frame is lightweight and sturdy, and the sage rip-stop nylon helps repel spills and can take a lot more abuse than other fabrics. The manufacturer recommends not exceeding a combined weight of 90 pounds. Compatible car seats: - Graco Snug Rider series
- Graco Safe Seat
- Peg Perego Primo Viaggio
- Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP
- Evenflo Embrace
- Compass Light and Portable infant car seat
- Britax Companion
- Safety 1st Designer 22
- Eddie Bauer Infant Car Seat (models 22-625 and 22-626)
- Baby Trend Latch-Loc and Flex-Loc

Universal Car Seat Adapter fits most major brands. View larger. | Streamlined Efficiency and Convenience Double strollers can be bulky and difficult to maneuver, with side x side seats creating an extra-wide profile, or other tandems being too deep to maneuver easily. The Joovy Caboose ultra-light, however, is designed for streamlined ease. Weighing in at just 21 pounds and sporting a neat, compact profile, the Joovy Caboose ultra-light Stand-on Tandem Stroller is a breeze to get around. It measures 41.5 x 21.5 x 38 inches (HxWxD). Sealed ball-bearing wheels contribute to a smoother ride as well, and a foam-padded handle offers additional comfort. A roomy under-seat basket provides room for your traveling essentials, and the nifty neoprene "Cool Essentials Parent Organizer," which includes a cup holder, keeps keys, your cell phone, and a drink close at hand. A Fun, Comfortable Ride The stroller is compatible with many infant car seats (see list below), offering easy "snap and go" convenience for traveling with a young infant. Once your baby is old enough to sit up independently, she can sit facing forward, secured safely with a five-point harness. Snacks and a drink are close at hand thanks to the removable child tray, and a wide sun shade keeps her safe from the elements. Whether you're browsing at the mall or trekking through the zoo, your older child will love the versatility that the Joovy Caboose ultra-light provides. When she gets tired of walking, she can simply hop onto the standing platform. Comfortably padded handles are available for her to hold. Or she can take a rest on the adjustable, padded seat, which is also equipped with a three-point harness. Compatible Car Seats The Joovy Caboose ultra-light Tandem Stroller can be used with the following infant car seat models: The Graco Snug Ride Series and Safe Seat; the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio and Primo Viaggio SIP; the Evenflo Embrace; the Compass Light & Portable Infant Car Seat; the Britax Companion; the Safety 1st Designer 22; the Eddie Bauer Infant Car Seat (models 22-625 and 22-626); the Baby Trend Latch-Loc & Flex-Loc; the Chicco Key Fit Car Seat; the Combi Centre Series and Combi Connection; and the Maxi-Cosi Mico. | Also available in: | Black | Sunset | Red | Camo |

So glad that we got this! July 31, 2010 Crestviewer (CO, USA) I looked at a lot of double strollers when I was pregnant with our second child. I landed on the Joovy Caboose Ultralight and am so glad that I did.
My girls are 23 months apart. My older daughter didn't ride much in the stroller even before we had the second so I was immediately attracted to the sit and stand models because it fit her independent personality because it allows her to get on and off my herself and decided whether she wants to sit or stand.
I was attracted to the joovy sit and stand because it is so compact. Some of the double strollers I have seen are so big that I cannot image pushing them through a lot of stores. And this one maneuvers pretty easily too.
I decided to go with the ultralight model instead of the normal caboose because I decided that I did not need to be lifting or pushing any more weight than I already am with my girls! And I liked that the ultralight has the Cool Essentials Parents Organizer included (a $25 value) - the organizer is one of the coolest and most useful thing!
The only problem we have had with the stroller is that it barely fits in the truck of of our Civic especially when you have the infant car seat adapter on it. So if you are looking at this stroller you might want to check the dimensions to make sure it will fit in your trunk.
Had this stroller for a year and still love it! July 19, 2010 M. Person I bought this stroller nearly a year ago, when my baby was a newborn and my older daughter was 2.5. I had a Graco infant carrier that fit snugly with the universal adapter, but now my baby sits in the front with the snack/cup holder tray. I have been everywhere with this stroller--airport, Disneyland, zoo, malls, walks in the park--and I still love it as much as when I bought it. The parent organizer is the perfect size for my wallet, sunglasses, cell phone, iPod, keys, and water, plus extras like Kleenex and hand sanitizer for the kids. Then I stick my spare diaper & changing pad in the basket underneath the seats, and I'm good to go all day! In the airport, I actually stick the baby in my Ergo and load up the front seat with our carry-on luggage.
My 3.5 year-old loves this stroller as well. It's true that with the infant carrier on the front seat, she couldn't quite sit up straight on the back, but that never seemed to bother her. She loves having the option to sit, stand, or walk when we're out. I get compliments on this stroller nearly every time I use it.
I read many reviews before settling on this stroller, and it's important to know that this is not an umbrella stroller or a jogging stroller, and it doesn't have the conveniences of both. But I wasn't looking for a side-by-side stroller because it seems like those never fit anywhere, and I don't like the design that has one child sitting behind and practically underneath the other child. This stroller is light, but long (which it has to be, since it's carrying two children). It doesn't exactly turn on a dime, and I have to slow down a bit more to go up and down curbs without a ramp (again, because it's carrying nearly 60 pounds of children). But I've never had any problem with the wheels like I read in other reviews.
I drive a mid-size SUV and it takes up half the floor space in my trunk. It can get smaller if you remove the canopy and tray but I've never needed to do that.
I would absolutely buy this stroller again, and I have recommended it to several friends. It is exactly what I wanted in a double-stroller.
My arms have never been so strong July 10, 2010 K. Lewis I shopped around a lot before purchasing this stroller and I am SOOOO disappointed. Here are some pros and cons.
Pros - ultralight. They weren't kidding here. It is a lot lighter and easier to lift up my stairs than others have been
- Good sun shade. Most stroller shades are totally useless. this one is fine
- handles well on smooth, flat surfaces.
Cons - When I have my infant seat in there is no room for my other son. He gets hunched over forward as the front seat has to be reclined all the way back. This wouldn't be too much of a problem except . . .
- The back sit seat is free moving (it slides back and forth)and can't be locked into place. So my son slides back and forth which is dangerous and when my infant seat is in the front and my son's back seat is sliding back and forth it pushes him off the seat. It would be fine if I could lock it into place but I can't.
- It doesn't handle well on semirough terrain. I'm talking about slanted or bumpy sidewalks. It is nearly impossible to steer unless you have ultra strong arms.
- Don't know if mine is the only one like this but it pulls off to one side.
I have tried my friend's Phil and Teds and wish with all of my heart that I had paid the extra 200 to buy that stroller. It handles beautifully and fits both kids really well. Remember it is cheaper to buy an expensive stroller the first time than to buy two. Now I know some people love this stroller but I'm guessing a lot of them use it to go to the mall or places where sidewalks are level. I live in Boston and I have talked to others here that have this stroller and they hate it too.
Fantastic Stroller! June 22, 2010 Sara E. Hernandez (Huntsville, AL USA) I have owned this stroller for 2 1/2 years now, and it is fantastic. I bought it when I was pregnant with my second child. I loved that I could use it with an infant seat or without when your baby gets older. He is now 2 1/2 years old and it still works great for both kids ( I also have a 5 year old). Excellent handling, easy to open and fold up. Does not take up my whole trunk space (I have a Camry). Plenty of storage underneath. A little heavy, but very durable. We take it everywhere from the mall to the zoo. I fits in so many more places than the side-by-side strollers and is much easier to drive. Cleans up easy, and the tray and canopy come off/on easy when you don't need them. Love it, love it, love it! Best baby product I ever owned!!
Beast stroller! June 14, 2010 Maurice Toney (CINCINNATI, OHIO, US) We love our Joovy Ultra Lite. I have a three year old and an eight month old and we have used it since our eight month old was born. I love that it is not too heavy for a double stroller and easy to collapse and set up. It has gone to the beach, to the zoo, on walks, and both kids love it. My 3 year old loves that he can get on and off when he wants. I also love the parent organizer- tons of space for keys, cell phone and drinks. It's the perfect stroller for a toddler and a baby!
