 Great introduction to Board Games August 21, 2008
I bought this for my daughter when she was 23 months old. She was in the process of learning her colors and shapes and I thought this game would help. She absolutely loved the game itself. Pulling the little lever to make the pieces shoot out was so much fun for her. At 23 months, she was too young to really play the game as it was intended but we used it as a learning tool and I would help her match the pieced to the boards and have her say the shapes and colors.
As she has gotten older I've started to teach her how to actually play the game according to the rules and it has really helped to teach her how to 'take turns'.
The castle itself is very durable. When I first opened the box I took one look at the lever and thought that it would be broken in no time. But it has withstood a lot of pummeling from my daughter and her young
cousins.
The only thing I didn't like about the game is that one of the shapes is kind of a 'club' shape that is difficult to describe to a toddler. I wish that Hasbro had just stuck to standard shapes for the game pieces.
Overall, I am really happy with this purchase and would definitely reccomend it for the toddler/pre-school crowd

Great game to teach colors, shapes and taking turns. I bought this for my daughter when she was 2 years old and she really enjoyed it. She learned colors and shapes and how to take turns which at 2 was a little hard at first. Now at 3 years of age she still loves this game.

Candy Land for tots July 24, 2008
My second daughter always wants to play with my oldest daughter's games and well everything. This games is safe and fun for her while still interesting enough to get my oldest daughter in on the fun. Also, she( my second child) is learning shapes more easily now that she has a hands on game to play.
Adorable & Fun! July 23, 2008
As soon as my youngest daughter, who was 3 at the time, saw this online, she wanted it on her wish list. We bought it for her last Christmas.
It's a very cute, colorful, sturdy game. If you've ever played Barnyard Bingo, that's just about the gist of this game. Colorful shapes go into the castle, then everyone takes turns pushing the lever to dispense a shape that will, hopefully, go on his cookie. SIMPLE. The first one to fill up the cookie with shapes wins. You'll play it over and over and not go out of your mind.
My daughter was 3 when we got her this & it was self-explanatory for her to play it. I KNOW she could have played this at age 2, or even 1-1/2.
I only have one complaint & it's not a big one. The box has an open design. As you can see from the picture, the front is open. It would be nice if this were closed so no little parts would ever fall out. Generally, we'd put this away with the colored shapes inside the castle. If one of the kids gets careless and just throws the shapes into the box, they could easily fall out.
Overall, nice gift for ages 18 months to 4 yrs..
