Not Just For Babies June 23, 2006 My children, 7 & 9, are swim team swimmers (we are Swedish and are really fair skinned.) This is the only sunscreen, that lasts for hours, that they don't completely object to. Yes, it's gooey, but it's not that gross-greasy feel that so many other sunscreens have, and it smells good. I couldn't find it in the store this year, and finally found it on-line. The other sun screens just don't compare for serious, long-term protection that doesn't make their skin crawl. When my kids are going to be in the water/sun for 4 or 5 hours, this is the only sun screen I trust!
only for the beach! May 20, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i bought this sunblock because it contained titanium dioxide - a physical (vs. chemical) sunblock, and it works extremely well. my son's daycare center requires all parents to apply sunblock during the summer, and this sunblock is much too goopy and hard to get off for everyday use. imagine applying toothpaste on a toddler's face - that's how goopy it is. also, my son is relatively fair-skinned, but he looks like casper the friendly ghost unless i take the time to really rub it in and spread it out. anyhow, i'm still rating it 4 stars because it definitely does protect my child from the sun, and stays put. i subtracted one star because i find it hard to use daily on a 15mo!
The BEST baby/toddler Sunblock... January 21, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This sunblock lotion really works ... for hours! And it's extremely gentle on babies' skin. I've tried several different sunblock lotions for babies and children and THIS IS MY FAVORITE for several reasons. It stays on even after extended periods in the water, it smells good and it moisturizes. The only bad thing about this lotion version is that you really have to rub it in good to get rid of that "white" lotion look on the skin. I've found that it is best (easier and alot less messy) if you apply it BEFORE dressing your child. Otherwise, you run the risk of having that white lotion all over your child's clothes. And it doesn't come off until you wash it off. (Proof of the excellent long-wearing, waterproof protection that it provides.)
If you are looking for the same excellent qualities with less mess, try the Banana Boat Baby Magic Sunblock Spray, SPF 48. It is liquid so it goes on much easier and faster. You don't have to "rub" it in like the lotion version. I actually prefer the spray version for this reason.
I highly recommend both the Baby Magic Sunblock Lotion and Spray!
The Best June 13, 2005 If you don't want your baby to get sunburned this is the stuff. Pros. 1. Stays on for a long time 2. You can use it for all sges 3.Is not oily 4.Does not sting baby eyes
cons. 1. is a little sticky
But overall this is the best
it's cheap, smells great, looks good, and works great June 21, 2004 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
love it! i'm a 23 year old Baby Magic fan with no babies. There's no glycerin (which dries out your skin over time) and it's great at warding off the evil effects of the sun. also, the smell is intoxicating!! you just want to eat it.
