The only gel-free diapers! January 7, 2008 My son typically wears cloth diapers. While on vacation we used these because he gets a rash from other diapers we've tried. I think he's sensitive to the gel.
These are not the greatest diapers. They are not as absorbant as gel filled diapers. The tabs on these are also more like scotch tape and can come unstuck at times.
I gave these a 5 because they are the only gel-free dipes I could find. I'd rather deal with their short comings then deal with a rash.
Tushies are NOT GOOD October 9, 2007 I love 7th Generation but do not care for Tushies. I found the tape fasteners on the sides either falls off from the diaper or does not stick. The cut of the diapers are very bulky and ill fitting. The diapers get soaked very quickly. NOt recommnended!
Tushies Diapers GEL-FREE!! Well worth the extra money! June 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have bought tushies in the past as a cloth alternative when we travel, etc. I am now using them because I have a son who has very sensitive skin and develops skin problems, blistering on his skin/ genitals because of laundry detergent residues on the cloth diapers. We have had great success with these and his problems are gone instantly and have not come back since. We thought after one package of tushies we would go back to cloth. One night in the cloth and he developed the problems again. Tushies have solved this skin problem for our son and for that we are greateful. It was very preferable to us that our children not have gel diapers in contact with their skin and as far as I know Tushies is the only company that makes a quite natural, gel-free, and very chemical free diaper. They are not able to hold as much liquid as a gel diaper, and so may need to be changed more frequently. A small price to pay considering the bad things you are avoiding. You'll know that they are pretty wet when they start bulging a little in the crotch area. Push your hand on the diaper and it should feel significantly heavier than before. They can work overnight if your baby is not a heavy wetter. If they don't seem to do the trick overnight, this is what I did. When your baby has worn a dipaer and it is not soaked all they way or pooped in, you can cut the dry portion of the diaper off and reuse it as extra soaker material in the dipaer you wish to use overnight. If that option sounds a little yucky to you, tushies also makes an insert for added absorption that you can get directly from them. You an visit their website for more info.
GEL FREE! May 7, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My wife pushed for the use of these diapers, because they are gel free, which is so much better for our baby. Our daughter who will be a year this week has only soaked through a diaper once. They absorb a lot The only problems I have with these diapers are that they cost a lot more than gel diapers, only come in 4 sizes, and that the tape at times has riped off the diaper (has happend to many times for the cost we pay!) When all is said and done, these Tushies are wonderful because they are gel free!
Great Diapers! February 27, 2007 These are the only diapers that don't bother my daughter's skin. The Seventh Generation was good until they changed their construction. Tushies are just as good, if not better because they don't use gel. The all cotton makes it harder to tell if the baby is wet sometimes, but they rarely leak and she's always comfortable. She gets a rash with every other diaper we've tried. Love the Tushies!
