Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
It took a Swedish mother of two boys to learn that every year of a babys life resulted in a mountain of used diapers weighing half a ton, every year. Half a ton! Couldnt this be done better? After many yars of intense work and development the result is THE FIRST Eco-Friendly, high performance diaper based on "green" technology. Our ECO-friendly diapers perform as well as the best "traditional" diaper, yet are better for your baby and the environment. Marlene Sandberg, the creator of Nature Babycare said it best; "I don't believe in compromises or shortcuts."

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Great diaper   August 27, 2008
I love this diaper. We switched to this kind after getting sick of the leaking G Diapers. I agree that these do sometimes leak at night, but I think that is more due to the smaller sizing. My son is 14 lbs and I think already too big for the size 2 diapers. They are hard to wrap around his fat little legs and are starting to rub a little where there is gap on the sides under the tab. I think this problem would be solved with a larger size. Otherwise, I find them very absorbent - just as good as other non-disposables. I was pretty surprised.

4 out of 5 stars OK alternative to traditional disposables   August 15, 2008
I was thrilled to find these more environmentally friendly disposable diapers. I am generally pleased with their performance on my daughter. As with all diapers they have their pros and cons. Unlike the other reviewer I have had no issues with leaking and have found them quite absorbant with both #1 and #2. The tabs have always stayed tightly for me.
I did find that the fit is smaller than the package says. My daughter is about 14lbs and will no longer fit in the size 2 without pulling the tabs too tight and causing a red rubbing on her legs (she is not a chubby baby either).
So I would say, worth a try if you want an alternative, just buy a size up.

1 out of 5 stars Far better alternatives available   August 13, 2008
I tried these twice after my displeasure with Seventh Generation's change to their tabs hoping for a better diaper and was sorely disappointed.
"Velcro Tabs"
The tabs are very small and do not hold well, and if you have to readjust them for any reason be wary- they rarely hold after a second adjustment and have hardly any velcro on them.
"Fit"
The diapers are on the small side. I ordered these again by accident and figured I'd try using them again since I'd already paid for them but my son is 18lbs and in the 18lb diaper I could barely close the fastening tabs. The elastic around his legs and bottom were insufficient and when he pooped it went all over my lap- leaving almost nothing in his diaper. The 7th Generation diapers although they are approximately the same size have never done this. I had multiple leaks before his diaper was even partially full.
"Comfort"
I used them when my son was younger and found them to be very stiff and caused lots of redness to my sons gentler parts.
"Absorbancy"
These are significantly less absorbent than any other diaper I have tried (I compared it to my Seventh Generation diapers of the same size using a measuring cup and found that after 3/4 cups water they leaked while the 7th Gen was still going strong). Does not absorb poop- even the liquid kind (so if you don't change your child immediately he's sitting in it unless your child moves and it squishes out - one of the many possible exits - which has happened with my son far too much).

Overall I recommend Seventh Generation if you're looking for an environmentally sound diaper that still functions - I will NEVER use this diaper again.

2 out of 5 stars Leaks!   July 27, 2008

We use bum genius (Love!)cloth diapers most of the time but fill in with Nature Babycare when traveling and sometimes overnight. The sizes on the Nature Babycare are not accurate. My baby is 11 lbs and we are using the size 2 already. Also if you don't change the diaper right away they leak like crazy out the leg openings. I was using these for convenience, but with all the clothing changes and fit problems, the cloth diapers are much better! They are a lot better for the environment than standard disposables though!
