finger pulse oximeter August 29, 2008 This is great! Just what we needed and at a fraction of the cost.
Great little device. August 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Recently, my husband was hospitalized for a "breathtaking" upper respiratory infection which conflicted his breathing capabilities. He was in a rehab unit for a month for pulmonary rehab. Each day while he was working out, they used a pulse oximeter to determine his oxygen levels and heart rate. (In addition to COPD - he also has congestive heart failure.) We purchased one of these units to monitor his levels after he was released. Actually, I had misgivings about the unit due to its low cost relative to other units available - thinking that the low price would mean it was ineffective. Because it was shown as being approved by the FDA, I did purchase it and have to say that we are very satisfied with it and have tested its accuracy with units in the pulmonary physician's office. My husband would like to wean himself off the oxygen he now requires and we use this unit as he does his exercises at home to determine if his breathing or heart function become compromised. Our experience with the unit has been very positive.

Finger Pulse Oximeter with Hard Shell Case July 9, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The actual unit works accurately. My only complaint so far is the case for it is too tight and slightly moves the batteries out of position. When the unit is removed from the case to be used, the batteries have to be repositioned or reset to make the unit work. Otherwise it works as advertised and seems to be very accurate.
Peace of mind July 9, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
My husband was recently placed on oxygen. I called the doctors office to find out how I could purchase a oximeter. They laughed at me. Told me those were way to expensive $300-500. I was shopping on line for another item when this one popped up. So I purchased it. It gave both my husband and I the peace of mind we were looking for a month. It also allowed me to monitor him as he went through the dying process. He was home on hospice care for his final week. And I didn't need to call anyone. I was able to adjust his oxygen myself. And knew when the end was near. Now he's taking a deep breathe of heavenly air. What a blessing this product was!!
