For those who never thought Disney would release a film in which Santa Claus is kidnapped and tortured, well, here it is! The full title is Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, which should give you an idea of the tone of this stop-action animated musical/fantasy/horror/comedy. It is based on characters created by Burton, the former Disney animator best known as the director of Pee-wee's Big Adventure, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and the first two Batman movies. His benignly scary-funny sensibility dominates the story of Halloweentown resident Jack Skellington (voice by Danny Elfman, who also wrote the songs), who stumbles on a bizarre and fascinating alternative universe called ... Christmastown! Directed by Henry Selick (who later made the delightful James and the Giant Peach), this PG-rated picture has a reassuringly light touch.  "Nightmare" a dream October 9, 2008
This is a fabulous movie, so it is gratifying to see an edition that provides a full menu of features to compliment the film. Filled with behind-the-scenes features and extras, plus a digital disc and a fabulous edition of the movie itself.

This movie is excellent, and love Tim Burton's film. Great movie for kids and adults, very educational. Animation is awesome and very realistic. Would recommend for the entire family.

This movie is THE 90s classic movie by Tim Burton! Jack and Sally are sweet and this movie is beautifully made! You would be a moron if you dont watch this and share it with the family!

Another one of my friends got this for me as a gift. Again, I was giddy with delight (they all know me so well)! While I thought it odd that Disney would reproduce something that was fairly dark, it was so great to see this movie again, as I hadn't seen it in years. The remaster was wonderful as the colors were more vibrant. I especially loved all the bonus features like Frankenweenie, Vincent and The storyboard to film comparison. I thought the cost was high at first, but when I saw the 3D bust as the cover and all the extras, I realize the cost was quite fair. This is a great buy for followers of this cult classic or anything Tim Burton.
