The Latex Mat is an ideal crib mattress for your baby. Natural latex foam, tapped straight from the rubber tree forms the core of the mattress. It has a superior cell structure made up of lots of tiny air bubbles which keeps the natural fibre well ventilated. The natural foam is also very durable and resilient which means it provides excellent support for your baby. The latex is sandwiched between layers of organic coir (coconut fibres) for extra support and breathability and wrapped in an anti-dust mite lambswool which acts as a good thermal insulator, ensuring the mattress is cozy in winter and cool in summer. The Mattress cover is made from unbleached 100% cotton herringbone, which can be removed and washed at 60?e??C. The Latex Mat is slightly softer that than the Coco Mat. What Is Natural Latex Foam? Natural latex foam is produced from the Hevea Brasilienesis rubber tree. It was once commercially produced in the Amazon and now 90% of the total world production of natural latex comes from Asia. The latex comes of out of the tree as a white cloudy fluid, similar to cow?o?e?aeos milk. It is sapped straight from the tree (similar to tapping a syrup from a Maple tree) by cutting a spiral groove into the bark which allows the sap to exude into a container over a period of hours. The latex fluid is then whipped into a frothy liquid to beat the air into it and then placed into an oven to bake into its final state. The end product is 100% natural latex foam.
