Disaster May 2, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Began using after birth of child on Christmas day, 2006. Within one week, steering was difficult. Within 9 weeks, one front wheel snapped off. Took more than two weeks to receive a replacement wheel. One week of use later, a rear wheel snapped off. Rear wheels are not replaceable. The stroller is now therefore a complete bust. Nothing could compel me to recommend this travel system to anyone.
so far so good April 26, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this stroller for my baby girl I haven't used it yet my wife will be due in a month from now but everything came in perfect conditions no broken pieces also I got it for $130.00 with a 60% off good deal , I don't know how it is using it on the streets but I come back and share my experience.

1.30.08 OK! I've been using it. Can I tell you that the Car Seat is only good for 3 month or so! Your better of buying Graco or the best selling travel systems that are out there. I don't go out often and the little time the stroller has been in use, Well, it Sucks! The color is wonderful! Overall, not good. Sorry for the late responds... Shop away! ------------------------------------------------------
Still Not in Use!
I was a bit unease to purchase the travel system. The first review on here was well written and to the point of her problems. I've searched for so many strollers, and many were dull colors. I want my son to be, to see color in his life, brighten up his space. NO MORE PASTELS!!!
Target had TS for $229 and I'm a bargain hunter, so hello Amazon has it for $145. Great deal! The design is great! Yes small cup holder, etc. Yet, work with what you have. I loved reading Jenny McGrathy's Baby Laugh. She makes a good point "don't go crazy buying a $2,000 stroller if your baby could be happy with an $l00 one." Baby Laughs: The Naked Truth About the First Year of Mommyhood She has the money to spend. I'm on a budget plan, and I didn't want to put my stroller on the baby registry. There are some things that parents should get.
Some discoloration can happen. I'll tell you why, it's a light gray base, it can easy scratch and turn white. Everything else was good. I had a little bit of a struggle when I was trying to open it. =) Once you get the hang of it, it's easy. Don't be afraid of the GREEN COLOR, it's not NEON! Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase, and I look at it everyday, I love it even more. Everyone who sees it loves the color too. Safety wise, it's good, nothing came broken; all the parts where put together right. It's surely light weight; the car seat has cushions all over. Test it out, if it doesn't work out for you return it and move on. Don't dwell on it. Do your homework! Best of Luck with your shopping and go for it.
I'll be back in July, once I test it out!
Nice upscale features, but beware of major flaws November 21, 2006 49 out of 51 found this review helpful
I purchased this travel system from Costco because I trust that they sell high quality products, and because it has some really cool features usu. only found on upscale strollers/travel systems such as:
Magnesium frame, lightweight & strong 5 Point harness system Full recline so baby can lay flat "Sedan Ride" wheel system w/metal posts 1-hand fold/unfold Stands when folded Rotating handle for comfortable pushing Accepts the state-of-the-art Compass I400, I410 & I420 No Rear axle also helps people comfortably walk behind stroller Side & rear entry basket Child's tray & parent console & carry handle for lifting in/out of trunk Certifications: ASTM Warranty: 1-year
Unfolded dimensions: 33" x 22" x 44" Folded dimensions: 12.5" x 22" x 37.75" Weight: 15 lbs.
I410 Infant Car Seat:
Advanced Safety Frame (ASF) 5 Point harness system Multi beam back frame that reinforces structure Deep Side Wings for side impact protection Full EPS Foam Liner absorbs energy Built in lock off for secure and confident installation Easy Adjust Shoulder Harness never needs to be unthreaded For infants 4 - 22 pounds, up to 30" tall, FMVSS 213 certified
Certifications: ASTM "A" rated seat by Baby Bargains
Warranty: 1-year Dimensions: 23" x 18.5" x 19 Weight: 22 lbs.
First the good stuff:
The stroller looks very sleek and modern, and is truly lightweight. The inside is plush, and the stroller overall looks like the more expensive brands, which brings me to another plus--the price (about $200 for the whole system). Basket is a decent size, and there is a parent tray (but it is so small that not many cups would fit). The car seat is also plush and was rated very highly by Baby Bargains (I'm curious to see that article to see exactly why). It folds relatively easily if you push the front of the stroller against something like your car or a wall while twisting the handle. When I put my 4 year old (my new baby is not born yet) in the stroller, it maneuvered quite well and did not feel bulky.
Now down to the flaws:
Within 24 hours of taking it out of the box, and just trying it out in my living room, 3 pieces were broken or found defective. 1. The small plastic locking mechanism (a crucial piece) on the side of the stroller was found on the floor by my daughter. It had broken off.
2. One of the wheels would not lock securely into place even after talking with their customer service (who advised I return the stroller).
3. Lastly, the plastic on the canopy of the car seat split in two.
All this, and the stroller was never even used. I was thinking of returning it and then ordering a new one to see if the first was just a lemon and maybe damaged through shipping. But if all that was broken through shipping, how would it handle normal wear and tear?
However, the main reason I am not thinking of reordering again is that the car seat cannot be placed on any shopping cart. Now, ask any mom how often she may need to go grocery shopping or to a store where you buy more things that cannot be piled on top of a stroller. Pushing a stroller and a cart is impossible, and if I put the car seat inside the cart, there will be no room for anything else, not to mention that the baby would sway back and forth. Considering that I and most other mothers need to go grocery shopping quite often, this is really a problem. When I called them and presented this dilemma, they had no solution. Unless I use a baby carrier that I strap on, I need to find a babysitter every time I go shopping! Very impractical and inconvenient. This in my opinion is a huge oversight in the design of this car seat, and will probably be the reason that I would not give the Compass travel system another try. If they can find a way to fix these flaws, I think it would be a good travel system, assuming no quality issues.
A side note: What really prompted me to write this review was that when I was considering to purchase this system, I could not find one single review on this product anywhere. While it is true that I did not actually get the chance to test this product out in the streets and really use it, I felt that any description/experience with it in the flesh since this product is mostly sold online, could help others.
