the best bottles August 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I absolutely love these bottles! We tried advent first, he hated them, tried medela..was too gassy from them, tried Dr.browns a little imprvement but i hated the orange residue always left on the vent system. then broke down and shelled out the bucks for these and my baby has been happy ever since. his gassiness basically went away, he never has inerrupted feedingd. these are easier to clean then the dr. browns and they are bpa free. he is 5 months and always wants to hold the bottle himself, of course i hold it straight at the bottom for him, but this was definetly money well spent. but, it would be nice if they can make them a bit more affordable, especially for us on a tight budget.
Good bottles August 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think these have been really good bottles for my 2nd daughter and that they really do reduce gas. With my first child we used the Avent bottles and she was gassy all the time. Now with my 2nd we switched to these and she's been doing great. Both were on breastmilk only. I also have never had them leak as others have said. The only time they've leaked is when I forgot the middle pieces.
Love it August 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wanted to buy glass bottles after reading about the dangers of using plastic bottles containing BPA . I was worried at first since my daughter loves the nipple on the Gerber Nuk bottles but when I gave her her first bottle she loved it. The nipple is soft and the flow is perfect. She has GERD and we just took her off her meds so changing bottles was a little stressful but it all turned out great. It's a little pricey, about 10 bucks per bottle but it's all worth it to switch to a BPA free bottle!!!!!!!
I like them! July 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I switched to these bottles from the Platex Nursers because my son was having tummy aches after his bottles. I wanted a BPA free bottle and these seemed to be the best. My son has a better latch on these nipples and I LOVE that they are 9 oz instead of 8 oz so there is plenty of room to add the powdered formula (unlike my previous bottle). Because of the venting system, we stir the formula with a spoon instead of shaking them. Or, spin in between your palms with the bottle upright if not at home. This cuts down on bubbles in the formula.
There are a few steps to assembling them, but I don't mind. It just takes a moment longer. BEWARE many of the reviews below specifically list GLASS bottles, even though these are the BPA plastic bottles. I've NEVER had one of these bottles leak. Not ever!
You should let the parts dry before assembling them for better air flow, but that's no big deal for us. The only complaint I have is that it's difficult to get the vents for them because of high demand. I'm glad that people are being educated about BPA and hopefully the company will be able to catch up on manufacturing the vents. Other than that, I love them, and more importantly, my son is doing really well on them!!!
Dr. Brown is way better July 28, 2008 I wish I had believed the negative review before I purchased these bottles. Their venting system is not good. I can see lots of bubbles come out when my baby takes his milk. The worst part is when I first screw the nipple on, and test the milk flow, the milk will actually gush straight out, which could potentially choke my baby. I have to unscrew them, and then tight the top part again. Do it at least three times. You can imagine there is no fun doing this with a hungry baby in your arms crying for food. In fact, my baby got mad so many times with these bottles that I have to stop using them. Dr. Brown is way way better, although it is not BPA free. I am not sure about BPA part, but I am sure my baby does not like these "Born free" bottles.
