Good Stuff September 13, 2008 We have been feeding our son this formula since birth and he really likes it. If you look at the ingredients of most formula's Corn Syrup is the #1 ingerdient listed, but the #1 ingredient here is Cow's Milk...imagine that, milk is the #1 ingredient in baby formula! I also like the fact that they use evaporated cane juice as the sweetner rather than refined sugar and the DHA and RHA come from vegetable sources.
Good for picky eaters September 13, 2008 My son was exclusively breastfed for 4 months, then I had to go back to work. Finding a formula that he would actually eat in any significant amount was a nightmare. We tried everything until one day I saw Similac Organic at the grocery store and figured it couldn't hurt to try! He went from eating only a few ounces of a bottle to chugging down the whole thing. I've tried it (I figure I need to try a taste of what he's eating) - it definitely tastes sweeter than the other formulas out there, but that also helps mask that heavy metal taste that some of them have. We've been using this formula for about 6 months now and haven't had any real problems with constipation, and anything that helps my little guy each is a good thing! I highly recommend it, but definitely shop around because there are cheaper places you can find this brand. And to reiterate what another reviewer said - all formulas have sugar in them.
Caused constipation here too August 4, 2008 My baby never had a problem with constipation until we started this product. She went 4 days, 2 consecutive times, without pooping. When I stopped it she went back to her normal self ~24 hours after. I threw out the remainder of the can.
Sugar + maltodextrin vs. lactose May 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Contrary to what other posters have written, there IS a difference between sugar in this formula and other formulas. Most other formulas contain lactose. True, they're both sugars, but lactose is what's found in breast milk, is a more complex sugar, and generally takes longer for the body to break down (a generally good thing). We've switched to Earth's Best Organic, which contains only lactose.

My almost 6-month old baby girl has been on several formulas from Regular Enfamil, to Nutrimigen, to Soy, to Enfamil AR (thickened with rice starch for reflux) and even though the Enfamil AR helped her spit up tremendously, I had a plan to switch her to Organic at the 6 month mark, since I was worried about all of the constipation reviews. All over Latin America and South America, when babies have colic, tummy aches, reflux, constipation, etc., they give them chamomille tea (manzanilla or camomila), I bought an organic chamonille tea and every time she has a little problem, I give her an ounce or two in between meals, about once or twice a day, and problem solved. I have noticed with this Organic formula that she does have different vowel movements, she's been through 2-25oz. cans already, and the bowel movements are still a lot more frequent (from once or twice a day to every time she eats!), and the bm is a lot darker and I feel that her tummy bothers her at times, but I am allowing for her body to get used to digesting this different formula, while giving her gripe water or chamomile tea, and it immediately relieves her symptoms. Her spit up and mild reflux is actually 75-80% less frequent than on ANY other formula she has been on! Recommended!
