Love these diapers--saved my baby's skin from eczema outbreak November 16, 2008 Wanna get to the point? I love these diapers. My baby had horrendous eczema covering his diaper area. Switching to Seventh Generation diapers eliminated his eczema. I can prove it.
Wanna know more? Here's the story...I started buying Seventh Generation diapers for my baby when he was about three months old. He had slowly developed a terrible eczema outbreak that eventally covered almost all of his skin under the diaper. My pediatrician prescribed various types of strong steroid creams, but the creams had no effect. Meanwhile, I knew that I did not want to manage this issue with steroids forever. I knew that something in the Pampers I was using must have been bothering my infant's skin. (I have an older child who also has eczema related to known causes/triggers.) I switched to Huggies Supreme and then also tried Luvs without noticing any difference in the eczema. Then I remembered that a friend had mentioned using Seventh Generation diapers on her baby. I had never heard of Seventh Generation and knew nothing about the company or the diapers. But when I read the infomation on their website, I thought it seemed like they would be worth a try and ordered a package. The results were unbelievable! After three days of using the Seventh Generation diapers (and no steroid creams), his eczema outbreak, which was at its worst ever before the diapers arrived, disappeared **completely**! I knew it had to be the diapers, but my suspicions have been confirmed several times since then when I ran out of my Seventh Generation diapers and had to use Pampers or Huggies in the meantime. After even just a few hours in the Pampers or Huggies, I would begin to see a visible patch of eczema in his diaper area. As soon as I would get him back in the Seventh Generation diapers, the eczema would clear up again. He has never developed an eczema outbreak while wearing the Seventh Generation diapers. So, Pampers and Huggies...time to get rid of all the chemicals. Time to go chlorine-free!
Other things to consider....My one-yr-old son has had very few leaks over the year that I have used these diapers on him, and the leaks that he has had, have mostly been after a full night's rest. My three-yr-old son wears Seventh Generation diapers at night now, too. He does frequently experience leaking, but this has been a problem for him in all diapers and nighttime covers that I have tried. He does not leak more in the Seventh Generation diapers than in any others.
The diapers are high quality, with very few broken tabs.
I love to get my diapers on Amazon.com's Subscribe and Save. For nearly the same price as the Pampers that I used to drive across town to get at Target, I can keep my baby's bottom healthy by ordering Seventh Generation diapers, delivered right to my door every month. Can't beat that!

Wow! I thought these were eco-friendly only to find out through a little research that these aren't much better than the Pampers I was using. Did you know they color their diapers brown to make you think that they're more eco-friendly? I don't know about you, but how are they more environmentally friendly if they're using more dye to color them? These really aren't any better than the diapers I was using. No diaper is made of more than "trace" amounts of chlorine anyway..
Great diapers! November 11, 2008 I love these diapers! I was a steady Huggies brand buyer until I got a gift certificate to for Seventh Generation diapers. So far I've only used stage 4 on my son but I love them. They are just as good as the diapers I was so attached to. Highly recommend them.
Does its job! November 11, 2008 We have an 11 week old and have tried a few types of diapers thus far. Pampers, Huggies, and Seventh Gen. As a consumer who does look for more enviornmental products to purchase, I was drawn to try Seventh Generations brand of diapers. Although I feel more could be done to make these 'green' -- recycled materials would be nice ;) these diapers do what they were meant to do. Plain and simple.
FYI -- these do run just a bit smaller than the other brands we've tried. Not a bad thing, but just something to comprehend when you make a purchase. Our child went out of the 1's at about 11 lbs.
Pros: They work. Supporting a good company. Cons: Not the cheapest.
Excellent November 11, 2008 Best diapers out there. Used them on all three of our children. Very absorbent. Great value through Amazon, especially with the subscription service.
